A walkabout in Millcreek.

Descent into Alexander Basin

shoulder

I was getting rollers with ski cuts from the ridge, so the corner line was taken. The rollers ended as descent into lower angled progressed.

rollers

Above the rain line, dense sticky snow heated quickly.

alexandere

Point releases were seen on all aspects with a concentration on east facing.

raymond

Glide slides are likely over on the Raymond slabs.

raymond-slabs

The rain initiated earth movement in Mill B south.

mudslide

Pockets of glide continue activation with each weather event in Broads.

broads

Skis and skins were both waxed for warm snow. The skiing was quite slow, best above 9k, with a snow line somewhere around 7k. Rain-snow line was close to 9000'. Snow below that elevation hadn't drained through and was water saturated but, supportable on skis, not so much on foot.

Slope angles approaching 40° seemed a little sketchy below 9500' and didn't spend much time on those.

The nw face of Gobblers skied good after 3 pm, dodging clinkers to the apron.

exiting

Porter fork road had patchy snow on the exit.
