I went to the on snow demo for the Outdoor Retailer show, in town this week. Hadn't tried that for a few years.
Dakine tried it, too. Chico's in the middle. Great guy. They are making some very nice packs and gloves these days.
Mitch from the internet chat room Telemark Tips.
I showed up to demo wearing tele boots. Things have changed since the last visit.
It's all fixed heel, now. But, these skied very well in the late afternoon junkshow. Dynafiddle cables.
I like my quiver better. Jury's still out on whether the demo Charger in the middle should replace the classic Insane on the left.
Tried to escape from Solitude but all exit paths were blocked so...
8-13" over the firm base.
That firm base can be felt, especially on steeper slopes.
Winds from the northwest have drifted lee aspects, more so at upper elevations.
New snow had a slight higher density cap.
Bonding of new snow to old surface improved during the day.
My limited impressions of conditions.
