May 15
I went on a steeplechase hike looking for wild flowers, uh...specifically glacier lilies.
Lotta moon roses blooming.
Can't resist the carpet phlox.
Apparently edible, at least the bee thinks so.
It's only a little ways...
The little whites still in bloom, loco weed in the background.
Making progress
The last person + her dog that I'll see for hours.
It gets steep for awhile.
Looking back at the city
I brought a macro for the lilies.
Seems like they are at least two weeks early
and won't last much longer.
Usually, the are penstemons but...
the little spring beauties are out, instead.
My favorite part, it adds some interest for a minute or two.
Butterweed
and nuttal's violets
complete the show.
That took all day!
