December 25
Gobblers Knob
Elevations, slope angles and aspects
6200-10400', angles over 35°, north facing aspects.
Snow conditions
6-12" new snow, elevation dependent, over a supportable base.
There had been wind during the storm so upper elevation exposed was windpack with a light density cap.
Weather
Cool temperatures and light wind.
Evaluation
Natural activity was limited to sluffing during the storm.
Out of wind affected, ski cuts would occasionally produce a sluff in the upper coupla inches.
Weather guessers have more snow on the way so...
future stability will be dependent on wind, snow amount and bonding.
