Snow conditions
I found about a foot of dense, settled new snow at upper elevations.Ski penetration 2", boot penetration 8".
No cracking or collapsing.
Observed natural avalanche activity was from wind drifting on lee aspects.
Two slides on nne facing in South Monitor,
one, more recent in West Monitor.
Weather
Partly cloudy skies with lingering convection. Wind was from the northwest, less than 15 mph.Moderate temperatures.
Evaluation
Stout bridging of new snow over old layering. Good settlement.
Localized lingering instability from wind drifting.
Potential wet activity with warming.
