Elevations, slope angles and aspects
6200'-9800', angles over 35°, north, east and west facing aspects.
Snow conditions
A few bare spots on the west facing trail at lower elevations.
East and west facing have thin melt freeze crusts.
North facing is soft and creamy in sheltered terrain with wind board and exposed rime crust scattered around at upper elevations.
Lower elevation north facing, shallow snow cover and brushy.
A few patches of surface hoar in the parking lot and mid elevation meadows.
Weather
Partly cloudy skies early in the day with mild temperatures.
Increasing clouds in the afternoon with cooling temperatures.
Winds were light.
Evaluation
No cracking, no collapsing, no natural activity observed.
Good stability.
Reservations would be active wind drifts on the lee side. Could be some crossloading on other aspects.
