6200'-9800', angles over 35°, north facing aspects.
Snow conditions
Soggy at the trail head with mank to about 7500'.
Above about 8k, there was several inches of dense new snow, an even denser old snow base.
No collapsing, no sluffing.
Weather
Rain was ending at the start of the day, overcast skies, mild temperatures.
Wind increasing with elevation gain, gusting to about 30 mph at upper elevations.
Cornices growing, calving off when they had enough.
Avalanche activity
Numerous avalanche observed. Activity in Silver Bell,
widespread pockets in Alexander Basin
middle bowl, east chute and northwest facing Wilson chutes.
Yellow Jacket had slid at some point in the last few days with cornice fall evidence still visible.
The slide ran into the main flat tipping over a few small trees.
Noted no slides on Gobblers with scouring to brush observed along the ridges. Will it?
Evaluation
Stability marginal at upper elevations with wind loading.
Weather guessers have continued stormy weather with rising snow levels followed by cooler temperatures next week so...
Interest continues unabated.
