November 23
Fall semester of school is near the end!
I needed a walk in the mtns. Didn't get my "conceptual" photo but...
I did spot a coupla recent slides.
The pictured slope is just southeast of West Porter Fork pass.It is east facing.
Another small slide was observed below the "piece of pie" in the Raymond slab drainage of Porter fork. Same aspect.
Shallow crowns, likely the result of a little cross loaded wind drifting from the easterly wind.
Both slopes get sun during the day even at this time of year, so they go through a warming-cooling cycle, which has a tendency to weaken faceted layering.
Assignments beckon.
