The second storm passed through today.
I was hoping for a little afternoon clearing so I went to the big water trail.
Passed by Dog Lake, no clearing.
Remaining optimistic,
I continued
to Desolation lake.
No one had been past the lake, there wasn't any trail broken on the crest.
Since Levis and Hokas aren't the best apparel for snow walking,
I bailed, returning the way I came.
Snow from the first storm lingered on some sheltered shady aspects above about 8k.
Add the second storm and layering may remain till spring melt off in places.
