April 26
Starting at Brighton, I found 3-4" of medium density snow over several inches of damp, set up, rain? crust.
There were numerous collapses felt on the ascent to Wolverine.
Ski cutting on the descent initiated a small slide on a break over which over ran clingon tracks.
Several more small slides were triggered on a descent of the main north chute, Pioneer peak.
The collapsing and slides were the result of a poor bond of old snow surface with dense damp snow from yesterday's first wave + daytime heating.
All slides were running on the damp rain? crust with no step down to old snow surface.
Fog and low clouds kept the most recent snow dry into late afternoon.
I'd expect good skiing to linger for a day, with some isolated loose snow instability at upper elevations and shallow wet activity from warming.
