Snow conditions
A foot or so of recent snow, capped by a wind damaged surface, aspect and elevation dependent.
Easterly wind following the fluff storm has created widespread areas of drifting and scouring, most pronounced at upper elevations.
Warming on December 31 will have crusted sun exposed, primarily wsw faceing aspects.
Sheltered terrain retains soft and creamy.
Weather
Partly cloudy skies, cool temperatures, gradually warming, pesky wind from the east.
Evaluation
Mostly stable snow with scattered wind drifting.
Upper elevation exposed has suffered through several days of wind and may retain active drifts.
Isolated potential for older layering activation.
Future instability would be from significant new snow, increased wind or rapid warming.
