Broads Fork-Diving Board
Elevations, slope angles and aspects
6300-10800', angles over 35°, north and east facing aspects.
Snow conditions
2-4" light density new snow over a sun, wind or rime crusted old surface.
The new provided a good cushion over the old, somewhat variable, old surface.
Ski cutting produced a shallow fracture of the fresh here and there, lacking punch.
Weather
Clear skies, light wind, mild temperatures.
Avalanche activity
I saw a glide slide on Sunday while passing through.
It's not often possible to get an up close and personal of one of those so...
Diving board crown
glide crack
Other activity in the area was limited to rollers and small point release sluffing off heated rocks.
Evaluation
Good stability, isolated drifting
Future instability would be from any new snow amount, bonding, wind and or warming.
