Snow conditions

Recent snow settlement to about 6" at upper elevation, less lower.

Crusts on off aspects softening with warming. Surface sluffing on the shady side, lacking punch.

Daytime heating initiated wet activity, limited to point release in the area traveled.

Weather

Clear skies, mild temperatures and light wind from the west along ridges.

Evaluation

Stable snow with instability limited to surface sluffing and predictable wet activity.

Future instability dependent on warming and wind effect.
