Elevations, slope angles and aspects
7600-10k angles over 35°, all aspects.
Snow conditions
12" or so of settled snow at the trailhead from the recent storm.
That amount increased to over 2' at upper elevations capped by a coupla inches of very light density stellars.
Ski penetration 12", boot penetration above the knee.
Storm snow is right side up and well bonded. Wind effect(scouring and drifting) scattered and limited to mostly ridgelines.
Weather
Partly cloudy to overcast skies, cool temperatures with wind from the west, gusting to 15mph in exposed upper elevation terrain.
Snowpit
Evaluation
Best early season snowpack I've viewed in years.
Isolated potential in high elevation thin snowpack terrain.
Would expect increased sluffing with cool temperatures and forecast inch or two of fresh.
Wind and or significant snowfall likely to increase instability.
