Mineral Fork to the west pass and return

Elevations, slope angles and aspects

7000-10400', angles over 35°, north facing aspects.

Snow conditions

There was enough snow at the trail head to skin up. Still enough to skin back down.

4-6" increasing to an optimistic two feet in the upper bowl.

tip-hoar

Scattered surface hoar at lower and mid elevations, especially near water sources.

The upper elevations have recrystallized snow with all crusts starting to dissolve. Off aspects are melting.

Weather

Clear skies, cool temperature and light wind.

Evaluation

Shallow, weak, stable snow pack. There were a few very thin wind drifts from mid to upper elevations. Non reactive.

Snow continues to provide support with consistent skiing above 9k.
