I wanted to get information on snow conditions in Millcreek.
I walked the Bowman trail on the 18th. It snowed an inch or so, mostly graupel. The middle aged housewives did a nice
job grooming the trail with their sleds, a few bare spots down low and in the sun.
The cabin run,
the nose
and Silver Bell viewed from the trail. On my way out, I ran into a coupla three skiers heading up who claimed they had skied
from the top the day before. I was somewhat surprised as can be seen in the photos.
Curious, I took my bushwhacker skis on the 20th, and skied up the Porter Fork road. Phone company was replacing poles
in the housing area so the road was a bit chewed up but, ski able from parking, with a base of 4-6".
I skied up the road taking the trail to Davis gulch continuing to around 9k. Brushy with a ski able alley.
14-24" total snow, ski potential limited, depending on your bushwhack ability, no signs of instability.
