First day on snow. I started at the base of Brighton and went to Catherine's area.
There was 4-20" of snow, aspect and elevation dependant,
with the most above Catherine lake.
Scattered shallow wind drifts, 2-4" on easterly aspects near ridges.
Clouds came and went providing occasional good viewing of snow cover.
Other than the shallow drifts, snow stability is good.
The concerns would be an extended dry spell recrystallizing the shallow snow.
The base layer on covered aspects is a melt freeze crust from early October which would prvovide a good sliding surface.
