Snow conditions
Wind, sun and daytime heating all conspired to make yesterday's dense snow even denser. Some creamy lingered in the most sheltered upper elevation north facing, otherwise, stiff stay on top, windboard and various crusted. Still quite skiable. Gusting winds moved enough snow to add an additional layer of wind drifting.
Mid and lower elevations experienced another round of heating,
with point releases observed on all aspects by afternoon. The lower elevation exit was slushy below about 8k.
Weather
Overcast skies, partial clearing at times, a few flurries from instability showers. Winds from the southwest gusting above 30 mph. Mild temperatures.
Evaluation
Lingering instability from the recent series of wind, mainly at upper elevations. Wet activity should be minimized with overnight cooling. Weather guessers have yet another storm suggested so...
Instabilities would increase once again from further drifting and daytime heating, dependent on snow amounts, temperatures and wind.
