Snow conditions
Snow totals above the old surface are around two feet at upper elevations, with lesser amounts in wind scoured and at lower elevations. Sluffing continues on steeper slopes, with ski cuts.
Cornice drops
are also initiating new snow sluffing. Natural activity is much the same with a sluff observed here and there. Lower elevations and aspects exposed to sun and wind prior to the storms have a firm crust. Sluffs are running farther and pack a bit more punch in those locations.
Weather
Overcast skies and fog continued with partial clearing at times. A few flakes during the day didn't add any depth. Winds were light from the west. Moderate temperatures.
Evaluation
Stability remains good, with sluffs the instability concern. Ski cuts continue to work well. The facet-surface hoar anomaly observed yesterday, remains an isolated issue in well protected locations out of rain, wind and sun effect at mid elevations.
