Porter Fork-Raymond Glade-Paradise
Elevations, slope angles and aspects
6200-10k, angles over 35°, northand east facing aspects
Snow conditions
Melting snow at the trailhead turned to crust around 8k. There was an inch or so of settled snow from the recent storm above about 9k.
Spring sun and mild temperatures induced widespread rollers on the off aspects.
Bad photo but...those may get buried by new snow and ya don't wanna smack into one.
Snow flurries with wind during the day added some improved edging on descent.
Weather
Overcast skies with moderate temperatures. Wind was light on the up, gusting to around 30 mph from the southwest along the ridge.
Evaluation
Weather guess has a foot or so of fresh in the forecast.
There was a bit of surface sluffing on the steeps with bonding marginal.
That may continue so, ski cutting starting zones and break overs would be a good idea.
