February 13
Raymond
Elevations, slope angles and aspects
6200-10k, angles over 40°, all aspects.
Snow conditions
Strong wind from the northwest drifted and scoured exposed terrain with effects noted down to around 8k.
Shallow wind drifts over facets were common, even in sheltered areas.
Old rain crust on the surface, rime crust from February 5th on the surface,
pole probing to the ground in shallow snow locations etc indicate variability of conditions.
Mild temperatures were melting
observed hoars and adding interest to creep rate.
Snow cone snow found on southeast facing suggests a ripening corn cycle, likely hampered by weather guessed increased south wind.
Weather
Clear skies, light wind and mild temperatures.
Evaluation
Mostly stable snow in the area.
Potential for reactive shallow wind drifts, especially over facets, exists.
Wet activity with warming.
