Catherine's area Brighton-Alta

Elevations, slope angles and aspects

8000-10000', angles over 35°,

traverse

all aspects.

Snow conditions

8-12" storm snow total. It fell right side up and bonded well(for the most part) to the old surface.

Later in the day, after a bit of warming, sluffs could be initiated on steep slopes with the old underlying melt-freeze crust.

These were new snow only but, packed a little punch.

South facing may have gotten enough sun to crust in select locations.

Weather

Mostly cloudy skies with, light snow showers for most of the day. Occasional patches of partly cloudy. Moderate temperatures and light wind.

Evaluation

no-boundries

Snow was mostly stable. Slight warming loosened the bond between new snow-old snow interface.

That sort of thing may be expected once again with clearing.
